Public Numbers For Oil Spill Response Efforts Set

The Unified Command for the response efforts to the M/V Cosco Busan has requested the media's assistance in diseminating phone numbers for the public to provide information on the the movement of oil sheens, as well as any oiled wildlife identified.  The following phone numbers have been established:

To report oil sightings, please call 985-781-0804

To report oiled wildlife, please call 877-823-6926

To submit a claim for oiled property, please call 888-850-8486

In order to maximize the Joint Informations Center's ability to keep the public up to date on the response efforts, we ask that the general public monitor the news for updates, and that the information number listed be utilized only by the media outlets.  All current information will be posted at www.uscgsanfrancisco.com or at www.incidentnews.gov .
