Coast Guard Responds to Man Swept Off Rocks (June 25, 2008) ALAMEDA, Calif. - A man was pronounced dead at 8:44 p.m. by emergency medical services (EMS) today after being swept off some rocks near Stinson Beach. A Good Samaritan contacted 911 at 7:15 p.m. to report that a man was swept into the water after falling off some rocks while fishing. EMS then contacted Coast Guard Sector San Sector San Francisco who immediately dispatched an HH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station San Francisco and a 47-foot motor life boat from Station Golden Gate which arrived on scene by 7:59 p.m.
The helicopter crew found the man ashore near Stinson Beach with several Good Samaritans attempting to revive him. He was hoisted aboard the HH-65 helicopter and was then transferred to emergency medical services (EMS) waiting nearby. After resuscitation attempts were made, the man was pronounced dead by EMS at 8:44 p.m. ### |
