Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf to return home after first patrol

WHO: The crew of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf, the Coast Guard’s first National Security Cutter.

WHAT: The 418-foot cutter is scheduled to return to Alameda, Calif., after a three-month, multi-mission patrol.  The crew conducted counter drug operations and fisheries boardings in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.       

WHEN: Sept. 1 at 10:30 a.m.  Media are advised to arrive no later then 9:45 a.m. to gain access to the base.

WHERE: The event will be held on the pier at Coast Guard Island.  Media need press credentials or  government photo identification.  Drivers of vehicles must have current registration and proof of insurance to drive on Coast Guard Island.
