PETALUMA, Calif. -- Former school staff, Coast Guard EMT case survivors and hundreds of past graduates will be at the Coast Guard's EMT School at Training Center Petaluma for a 30-year anniversary celebration Friday, May 9, at 10:00 a.m.

The EMT school has been a cornerstone of the Coast Guard's corpsman program and famed rescue swimmer program.

"This anniversary is being held to celebrate 30 years of accomplishments and to provide a solid platform for future endeavors and programs," said Coast Guard Chief Charles Carter, EMT School Course Chief and Master of Ceremonies for the event.

Among the speakers will be TRACEN Petaluma's current commanding officer, Capt. Brian Marvin; founding member and former head of the school, Chief Warrant Officer (ret.) Bill Uhrig; and a physician who pushed EMT School through from concept to reality, Doctor and Rear Admiral (ret.) Al Steinman.
